Academic English Hub

Terms of Service

What you can expect from the Service, what we expect from you, and what a practice score does and does not mean.

Last updated:

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Academic English Hub website, practice materials, complete tests, accounts, score reports, and evaluation features (the "Service"). By using the Service, creating an account, or checking the agreement box before viewing complete-test results, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the separate Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service or access the gated results.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 and legally able to enter into these Terms. If the law where you live requires parental or guardian permission at a higher age, you may use the Service only with that permission. If you use the Service for a school or organization, you confirm you have authority to accept these Terms for that use.

An account is optional unless a feature says otherwise. You must provide accurate information, safeguard your sign-in method, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You may not share access in a way that evades security or usage limits. You are responsible for activity performed through your account or device to the extent permitted by law.

3. Educational practice service

Academic English Hub provides independent English-language learning and test-preparation materials. Scores, estimated bands, transcripts, explanations, and AI feedback are educational approximations only. They are not official scores, admissions advice, immigration advice, academic credit, or a promise of performance on any examination. You should verify important information and use your own judgment.

TOEFL is a registered trademark of ETS. Academic English Hub is not produced, approved, sponsored, or endorsed by ETS. References to third-party exams or services identify the subject of practice and do not imply affiliation.

4. Beta availability and changes

The Service is currently offered as a beta and may be changed, limited, interrupted, or discontinued. Test content, scoring rules, adaptive routes, usage allowances, and features may change. We may correct scores or reports when we discover a content, scoring, or technical error. We do not promise that saved local data will survive browser clearing, device loss, software changes, or an unsupported browser.

Stars, leagues, keys, Streak Shields, and ranks are virtual learning features with no monetary value. Their rules and availability may change. We may correct invalid stars or rewards after technical error or unfair use. Weekly leaderboard participation always requires a separate opt-in, can be left later, and is subject to fair-use rules; leaving removes participant visibility but does not stop personal stars, streaks, or leagues.

5. Your submissions

You keep any intellectual-property rights you already have in original essays, emails, answers, and recordings you submit. You grant Academic English Hub a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, transmit, format, transcribe, analyze, score, display back to you, and internally review those submissions only as needed to operate, secure, support, debug, evaluate, and improve the Service and evaluation accuracy. This license ends when the submission is deleted from our systems, except for de-identified or aggregated information and copies we must retain by law.

You confirm that you have the right to submit the content and that doing so will not violate another person's rights or law. Do not include confidential information, sensitive personal information, malicious code, or personal information about another person. The Privacy Policy explains developer review and third-party processing.

6. AI evaluation

AI evaluation is optional and subject to an additional notice. It may produce incomplete, inaccurate, biased, inconsistent, or inappropriate output. Similar answers may receive different feedback. You must not rely on AI output for admissions, employment, immigration, legal, medical, financial, or other consequential decisions. We may impose fair-use limits, reject unsupported inputs, or pause AI features for safety, cost, or reliability.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break the law, infringe rights, harass others, or submit harmful, deceptive, or unlawful material;
  • probe, bypass, disable, or interfere with authentication, security, test integrity, rate limits, or adaptive routing;
  • upload malware or use automated traffic that burdens, scrapes, or disrupts the Service;
  • reverse engineer the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it;
  • obtain or publish hidden answer keys, internal transcripts, prompts, rubrics, or unpublished test content;
  • resell, sublicense, copy in bulk, or create a competing content bank from Service materials;
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent a practice result as an official exam score; or
  • help another person do any of the above.

8. Our content and license to you

The Service, including software, visual design, question sets, audio, images, prompts, rubrics, explanations, branding, and compilations, belongs to Academic English Hub or its licensors and is protected by intellectual- property law. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for non-commercial learning and test preparation. No other rights are granted. Feedback or suggestions you voluntarily provide may be used without obligation to you.

9. Third-party services and links

The Service relies on providers such as Google, Cloudflare, and PostHog and may link to third-party sites. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, or independent use of information, except to the extent applicable law says otherwise.

10. Fees

Academic English Hub offers free access where shown and may also offer optional one-time paid packages with a stated access term, included content, and AI-evaluation allowance. The tax-inclusive total, currency, package term, and essential features are shown before a payment obligation is created. Paid packages do not renew automatically, and expiry does not cause another charge. AI evaluations included with a package are added to your account balance and do not expire: when the term ends, access to the paid content ends, but evaluations you have paid for and not used remain available. You can request a full refund in Purchases within 24 hours of confirmed payment. Unused purchases with complete records qualify for automatic refunds; paid use, reserved AI credits, payment problems, disputes, or flagged misuse require review. Ordinary first-day package use does not invalidate eligibility. Later requests may receive an exception review. Previewing or awaiting review does not change benefits. Approval holds only that purchase's remaining benefits, and a successful refund removes them. Other purchases, free allowances, and saved results are preserved.

Payment-card transactions are processed by iyzico. Delivery, immediate digital performance, cancellation, withdrawal, and refund rules form part of these Terms and are published in the Delivery, Cancellation and Refund Policy. Mandatory consumer rights, including rights concerning duplicate or incorrect charges, non-delivery, and defective service, are not excluded. You remain responsible for internet, device, and other third-party costs.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete a signed-in account through the Account page. We may suspend or terminate access, remove content, or limit features when reasonably necessary to protect the Service or others, comply with law, investigate abuse, address security risk, or respond to a material breach of these Terms. Where appropriate, we will give notice or an opportunity to correct the issue.

On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive, including ownership, disclaimers, limits of liability, and dispute provisions, will survive. Data handling after termination is described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Disclaimers

13. Limitation of liability

14. Responsibility for misuse

If your unlawful use, your content, or your material breach causes a third-party claim against Academic English Hub, you agree, where permitted by law, to be responsible for the reasonable losses and costs directly resulting from that claim. This section does not require a consumer to indemnify us for our own negligence or misconduct and does not limit mandatory consumer protections.

15. Disputes and applicable law

Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern informally. These Terms are governed by the laws that apply to the operator of Academic English Hub, without overriding mandatory consumer protections or rights you have in your country of residence. A dispute may be brought before any court that has jurisdiction under applicable law. These Terms do not require individual arbitration and do not waive a right that cannot lawfully be waived.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, providers, risk, or law. We will post the new date. For a material change affecting complete-test submissions, we may require a new agreement before showing results. Changes apply prospectively from their effective date unless law requires otherwise.

17. General provisions

These Terms and the policies expressly incorporated into them are the agreement about the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest will remain effective. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a reorganization or transfer of the Service, subject to applicable law. Headings are for convenience only. The English version controls unless local law requires otherwise.
